Re: [swish-e] _c is < 0 in uncompress1()

I think the problem was due to two instances of cron running:
11155 admin       668 S   /usr/sbin/crond -l 9 -c /tmp/cron/crontabs
19980 admin      4432 S   /usr/local/apache/bin/apache -k start
29493 admin       628 S   /usr/sbin/crond -l 9 -c /tmp/cron/crontabs

Indexing via a ssh terminal was fine. The problem is only with cron based
indexing. Other anomalies were noted.

Not sure if it will help in this case, but this script:

was written to make sure that the correct LD_* env vars and compiler
opts are passed to configure. Despite our intuitive sense that
--with-zlib should do what we mean, IME it doesn't always. Hence the
script above.
