Ah, thanks.  I was a bit confused, I think I thought that was showing
the 1000 characters in a result, not what you described below.

The highlighting/description code only returns matching snippets if a
match was found; otherwise, it returns the first N characters of the
description. Can you verify that the search term(s) actually appear(s)
in
the first 1000 characters of the PDF (which, according to your config,
is
how much you're capturing as a property)? Otherwise, you're likely just
seeing normal behaviour.
