So I can't really check, if the segfault, I get occassionally with
2.4.2, still is in the daily snapshot, can I?

But the segfault I get in 2.4.2 isn't. :-/

while writing to them. Is there any kind of locking while merging or
indexing?

            Kind regards, Axel Beckert
