I have just tried unsubscribing. I sent a message to 

listserv@sunsite.berkeley.edu
with the following in the body of the message

unsubscribe swish-e

N.B. leave the message subject blank.
You may need to use the option on your e-mail software to send your
e-mail in "plain text". 

After a few moments I received a confirmation from the server.
It seems it works normally. (you may have problems if 
your e-mail address has changed and the list messages are being
forwarded from your old e-mail...)
