Jody,
FWIW, my cron command is this:
$HOME/public_html/swish-e/bin/swish-e -S prog -c
$HOME/public_html/swish-e/bin/swconfig.conf
This worked for me as I could get swish to run from the command line but
not from cron before. If you still get errors then you may need to do as
others have suggested.
