There's a detail discussed of this in the FAQ:

http://www.swish-e.org/current/docs/SWISH-FAQ.html#How_do_I_make_Swish_e
_highlight_words_in_search_results_

It's not as easy as you might think.

Subject: [SWISH-E] Highlight seach results in source documents

Hi,

Does anybody have a script to highlight/colorize search phrases in HTML
documents? HTML tags should be left intact. The script should be similar
to Google's cached pages functionality.

Any ideas on how to write such a script (in C or Perl) would also be
highly appreciated.

Best regards.
