This article talks about using a patched version of SWISH-E to generate
an XML index for use by a purely Javascript search engine. This is the
search engine that LinuxJournal ships on their 1994-2003 Magazine
Archive CD.

If all you need is some Javascript and an ActiveX control for IE then
install SWISH-E 2.4.0 and you'll have both. Look at "Search
Documentation" start menu entry. That should open a JavaScript
exampleof using the SwishCtl ActiveX control. The example script allows
you to search the SWISH-E manual.
