I assume you ran "make install", but did you notice any problems when it
was installing?

Does libswish-e.so.2 get installed?

What does ldd /path/to/swish-e show?  Does it point to the correct
location of libswish-e?

I just installed on RH9 without any problem.

-bash-2.05b$ ls -l $HOME/rh9/bin/swish-e
-rwxr-xr-x    1 whmoseley users      856660 Nov  1 14:04 /home/users/w/wh/whmoseley/rh9/bin/swish-e

-bash-2.05b$ $HOME/rh9/bin/swish-e -V
SWISH-E 2.4.0
