Forgive the imprecision of language.  I mean "returns no results without any
complaining on the part of the API error-reporting routine when I
conscientiously check it".

To use grossly imprecise terminology, it's broke 'n' I cain't fix it.

I'll send samples once I've reduced it to the minimal glob of stuff that
exhibits the problem.
