How about freezing one version, calling it 2.1-pre1 that at
least compiles so that we don't have to download, configure, compile,
curse and repeat until we get one that works :)

I'd love move up to 2.1-dev, since I have a 200Kb index that makes
swish-e hang whenever any searches are invoked.
