Gavin,

Jose just sent in an update -- seems he forgot to upload a file.  It fixes
the make test segfault, and I can index and search my test data without any
problem.  

So, if you can, try the current CVS version.  If you see an increase in
memory usage, try to determine if there's a file that's causing the
problem, and also let us know your platform, total files, and that kind of
thing.

Don't forget, you need cvs update -A after using -D.
