Powerpoint and Excel to text utilities

Hello,

I am currently looking for a Powerpoint-to-text utility and an Excel-to-text utility that run Unix, to be used as filters for SWISH-E. Ideally, they should compile on MacOSX (Unix BSD 4.3).
