indexing files with umlauts

hello,

i need to index html files with umlauts. i tried to use, i. e.
&ouml;sterreich, österreich and &#246;sterreich in the files.

when searching for österreich i get no results (searching for osterreich
works).

is it possible to get swish-e to search for words containing umlauts?
